2013 Christmas Lights Switch-on

Halesworth gets Christmas 2013 off to a flying start today with several events

A Christmas Fair organised by the League of Friends of Patrick Stead Hospital at St.Mary’s Church Hall in Steeple End, with crafts, gifts and more, plus seasonal refreshments available. 10:00am – 12 noon.

Between 11:00am and 2:00pm all are welcome to the Christmas Fayre taking place at Edgar Sewter School in Norwich Road.

Come and join in Halesworth’s Christmas Lights Switch-On procession this afternoon, from 4:00pm. With a theme of Cinderella and her Ugly Sisters the procession assembles by the Library in Thoroughfare at around 4:00pm. Then off along the Thoroughfare before halting at the car park entrance for carols, featuring the Halesworth Festival Voices choir. At around 4:30pm Santa will perform the switching on of the Christmas Lights, assisted by Faye Hadingham, the winner of this Autumn’s ‘Scarecrow Hunt’ competition.
Then to the Market Place for Christmas music. Santa will be in his grotto in St.Mary’s church, welcoming visiting children.

Between 4:00pm and 6:00pm come and enjoy the Christmas Tree Festival in St.Mary’s Church where the handbell ringers will be performing.

Doors open at 7:00pm in St.Mary’s Church Hall in Steeple End for a Christmas Card Auction, commencing at 7:30pm. Organised by the Friends of St.Mary’s Church this event gives you the chance to bid for a card designed by celebrities and local artists. Admission £3.00, which includes mulled wine and Christmas nibbles.
